Oreon 10 Build 2502 is right around the corner.
As January 2025 comes to an end, that means it’s just about time for an update.
Starting in Oreon 10 Build 2502, the default background of the OS will be based off the season or month the update is released. In this case, this build is set to release in February, so it is a winter-themed background. This will change as time goes on in different builds based on the season.
Alongside that, we are pushing really just a few fixes, nothing too major. First off, we are re-optimizing the DNF package manager to use the closest/fastest mirror for package installation instead of the default mirror. Thanks to our partners, we are able to host mirrors outside of the United States for faster package installation.
But what else?
Well, we are working to make this build compatible with Apple M-series Mac’s just as a fun side-project to make our arm builds a little more useful. Also, we are working to make Nvidia drivers work out of the box on Oreon 10 (on a separate ISO) just to get the pain out of the way.
To summarize, Oreon 10 Build 2502’s main goal is to fix some of the most known issues in Oreon 10 and also make it compatible on more hardware.
As of right now, there is no set release date for the month of February, but we are aiming to release this build around mid-to-late February depending on the stability of the build once it’s near finished.
