Most probably it’s not specific to Oreon, but I wanna know why does removing the “old home folder” (as described here ) bork it? Or if I’m doing something wrong despite following the tutorial’s every step?
My first guess is that maybe it’s because the filesystem somehow is not compatible with Oreon’s (ext4 vs I guess xfs), but I want the closest answer possible.
I know, but I tend to mess with the directories a lot, and also occasionally distrohopping, so not having to reformat a partition just for that is easier. Also for some reason the system usually feels smoother after separating the root from the home (Started doing that just a few days ago, and damn if it didn’t boost my pc’s performance. HDD btw)
